Does It Really Work? | Jaclyn Hill's Foundation Duo
Hey Dreamers✨, I don't know about you but watching YouTube videos specifically beauty related videos is something I really enjoy after a long day. Someone that I'm always watching and getting new tips and tricks from is obviously the one and only Jaclyn Hill. If you're like me and watch her videos constantly than you know she's always raving about the Dior foundation and the Hourglass stick foundation. I thought maybe it would be the perfect time to put these two products to the test and see if what she is constantly raving about is actually true.
I was never the person to use stick foundations on their own because when trying the Anastasia Beverly Hills stick foundation it did not work for my skin. I was somewhat nervous too but the Hourglass foundation stick on my face because I've tried it by itself and it was very streaky and it did not work for my skin at all (it was bad). I decided that I would try this foundation duo on Honar & Sheerins Wedding Day (you can read by clicking the link) and if it didn't look good on me then I'll just have to use another one of the foundations that I love.
The Steps I Took:
When trying the foundation I definitely moisturized and primed beforehand. I used the Hourglass foundation first (Duh) I'm in the shade "Vanish/Linen" I put that all over my face and being worried about it sticking to my face too quick and becoming streaky I quickly started to blend it with my Real Techniques expert face brush (purchased from Wal-Mart) and my Morphe beauty sponge.
From there I took the Diorskin forever foundation in the shade "023" using my Morphe beauty sponge I started to blend the Dior foundation over the hourglass one and was very much surprised by the outcome. I had very low expectations for these foundations because of how much I hated stick foundations on me, but this combination was pretty much perfect. It gave me such a flawless look to my cheeks, and though my skin itself is very much textured I could tell that this combination was hiding and blurring scars, acne, pores, and texture more than my other foundations could. It was very much full coverage being that Jaclyn Hill is all about full coverage, but for a wedding, It was the perfect amount of coverage for me. For being such a flawless foundation together it did last more than I expected, around my cheek and forehead areas being that I was sweating for most of the time because I was dancing with my family it stayed on.
I do think that if I start taking care of my skin more such as my pores and texture this foundation would probably look 100x better than it did. BUT it looked amazing even when I wore it because no other foundation that I have can do what this did. I'm the type who fears trying new foundations because of the high expectations I always place on the product but having such low expectations this exactly worked. I think if you ever get the chance to get your hands on these products do it, because this is probably going to be my new foundation duo for weddings or whenever I need full coverage glam face.
These photos I shared from the Wedding have no edit or filter for my readers to see how well the foundation duo looked on my skin.
